NAMPA, ID, MAY 24, 2007 – PACTEC (Partners in Aviation and Communications Technologies), dedicated a new King Air plane today that will help it continue its relief work in war-torn Afghanistan.

The dedication ceremony for the twin-engine plane took place at the Nampa headquarters, as staff and supporters assembled for prayer and remarks from leaders. Attendees gathered around the plane for prayer during the service.

The new plane is scheduled to fly to Afghanistan Friday morning.

David Wunsch, president of PACTEC, stated, "The plane will be put to use immediately for relief and medical aid work. We go to the remote ends of the earth, and with this new plane, we'll be able to continue our work in Afghanistan. That work is vital to the people there and is making a tremendous impact."

Following the dedication, Daniel Juzi and Larry Warnemuende, two PACTEC pilots serving in Afghanistan, will fly the plane to its destination over a six-day period. It will leave from Nampa and make stops in Detroit, Newfoundland, Iceland and either Turkey or Russia.

Although certain areas in Afghanistan are under heightened international security, PACTEC is able to continue its work with appropriate security measures that protect the people who live and work there. These security measures are continually monitored by PACTEC.

With the addition of the new plane, PACTEC will operate five aircraft in Afghanistan – four King Air planes and one Cessna 210. A King Air can accommodate two pilots and about 10 passengers.

PACTEC provides safe, dependable and cost-effective air transportation to agencies involved in humanitarian assistance, such as non-government (NGOs) and private voluntary organizations (PVOs), government aid agencies, United Nations agencies and national government ministries. PACTEC specializes in operating single- and twin-engine aircraft in remote areas, and where alternative modes of transportation are impractical or unavailable.
