Our Purpose:
PACTEC (Partners in Technology International) exists to support
a nation's effort to build the capacity of its leaders to relieve
human suffering.
PACTEC is fast becoming an integral part of serving our world's
developing nations. Providing expertise in aviation, communication,
and other technologies, PACTEC is a hands-on partner. We multiply
the effectiveness of other humanitarian organizations and government
agencies by overcoming communications and transportation barriers.
Our Vision:
PACTEC aims to see nations actualize their full potential through
partnerships with humanitarian agencies that elevate the human condition.
The PACTEC purpose is to develop servant leaders who, working with
partners, promote human dignity by overcoming barriers:
- Transportation and logistical needs
- Communications capacity and resources
- Telecommunication centers for education and learning
- Technologies that lead to transformational change
- Technical schools in applied communications and aviation technology
Aviation Services:
PACTEC provides safe, dependable, and cost-effective air transportation
to agencies involved in humanitarian assistance, such as non-government
(NGO) and private voluntary organizations (PVO), government aid
agencies, UN agencies, and national government ministries. PACTEC
specializes in operating single and twin-engine aircraft in remote
areas and where alternative modes of transportation are impractical
or unavailable. PACTEC air and ground crews have extensive experience
in developing areas of the world.
Communications Services:
PACTEC provides assistance to PVOs, NGOs, and national government
ministries to establish or improve two-way communications where
reliable telephone service is unavailable. PACTEC purchases, installs,
and maintains HF/VHF radio networks, and satellite communications
connectivity. PACTEC installs and administers computer LAN/WAN networks
for e-mail and Web-based communications and applications. PACTEC
also provides training for local technicians who can then operate
and maintain PACTEC communications systems.
Partnering:
PACTEC values collaboration in carrying out programs of humanitarian
assistance. Many needs are too large for any one organization to
meet, requiring the resources of several. More can be accomplished
jointly than if agencies work independently. Collaboration allows
organizations to work within their areas of expertise and still
bring all the skills and resources together to accomplish a given
task.
PACTEC - "Partners in Technology International" is a
501(c)(3) non-profit public benefit corporation registered in the
State of California since July 1994.
